CN East Junction

The intersection of the CN's Memphis Sub, Grenada District and LA Belt is named East Junction. To the west of the junction is Harrison Yard, to the east is "E" Yard and the LA Belt. The Memphis Sub is to the north and the Grenada District is to the south. The Memphis Sub/Grenada District track passes over the LA Belt and connects with the LA Belt and Harrison Yard via the "City Wye" in the northwest quadrant and the "Grenada Wye" in the southwest quadrant. There is also a connection between the Memphis Sub and the LA Belt in the northeast quadrant known as the "Warehouse Lead". Another name associated with this location is the "Seawall". The Seawall is within the track configuratrion of East Junction and is where the LA Belt passes through a gap in a levee protecting South Memphis from floodwaters of the Mississippi River and Nonconnah Creek. A small metal building sits next the the gap containing gates which would be installed to close the gap if needed. If such flooding should occur, Harrison Yard would be on the flooded side of the Levee.
