BNSF Tennessee Yard

Tennessee Yard opened for business on June 24, 2007. Constructed by the Frisco Railway, it replaced Yale Yard which is located on Airways Boulevard south of Lamar Avenue. As built, it covered over 300 acres with a fifty track classification yard with a capacity of 2140 cars, and an eight track combination arrival/departure yard with a capacity of 1280 cars. The above video was taken on September 27, 2009. With the opening of the new ramp just a few days off, operators were practicing their skills on the production cranes.
